Back a few years ago you could send out about 400 emails to your contacts and get at least 6 or 7 people to sign up for a program. Now when you send out emails it takes 8 or 10 times that amount just to get 1 or 2 to respond to your offers. So things have definitely changed from back then, but you can still make money online in a marketing campaign.
I have a friend that is signing 20 people or more a month to their campaign with email marketing, but they are sending out nearly a million emails a month. That does not leave a lot of room for profits. And another friend I know is getting up to 30 customers a month to sign up for his program when he only sends out 300,000 emails a month. He is getting a bit better returns, but still nothing like it was before the 2000’s.
So what’s the difference? Now it has become a numbers game. With the internet growing like it has it just takes large numbers to get through all the clutter and spam filters. Another thing that contributes to it is a lot of people have multiple email addresses. Now with all this the email market is cluttered with millions and millions of emails a day.
So how many emails should a business be sending to get customers to act. There is no set number, but you also can not send to many, so send all you can get out. Try to start with at least 100,000 emails to begin with and go up from there. Just be sure to be consistent with your marketing efforts. Send out emails at least 3 times to be successful and a phone call will improve your odds.
Being in email marketing can be stressful, you will get complaints, there will be undeliverable email, blocked emails, the company you are using may dump you for to many complaints or change their rules so they can drop you. Just stick with it and learn to be a professional and you will make money online with your internet marketing campaigns with email marketing.
