Building Websites for the beginner
Filed under: Websites and Webdesign; Tagged as: build website, building online business, create website, Creating website traffic, online business, search engines, seo11 CommentsYou are ready to start a online business, but not quite sure where to begin. The first thing that will have to be done is research. Finding the right niche market is very important. This can be the difference in succeeding or failing. Finding good niche subjects can be done several ways. One way is, go to ebay and look at hot selling products, you can get good ideas there, another way would be to do keyword searches on all the popular search engines. Get the daily news paper and look in classifieds to find popular products. Once you have decided what subject you want to go with, you’re ready to move to the next step.
Now you’re ready to start building a website. Building a website is pretty simple to do. You may even want a professional to build the website for you. It does cost more to get this done, but if your budget will allow it this is the best way to go. You’ll get a well layed out and designed site usually for under $250.00.If you want to build your on website, it shouldn’t be that hard of a project. They have good software these days that will let you just drag and drop things were it goes. Type words in the desired boxes or you can use Microsoft word to wright your text. Then you’ll just upload from the word program to the template.
However you go, building the website is the easy part. Just make sure your content on the website matches the niche subject that has been chosen.
Now that you have a website built your ready to publish it. Once you publish your website, you’ll have to submit your site to the three main search engines, Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Once this is done, you’ll have to wait on the search engines to find your site. They use what is called a robot or spider to crawl the web. It always takes two or three weeks for the spiders to get around to crawling your website that you submitted to. When you get your website crawled by the search engines it will be a good time to add Google Adsense.
PPC advertising has many great benefits. First of all, you get your traffic going quickly. With PPC advertising you can have traffic coming to your website as soon as you set it up. When you have it up and running you need to monitor the account closely to see which keywords are working, and which ones are just eating your money. See when you use PPC advertising you are getting targeted customers toward the keywords used when the account was set up. Make sure the keywords are geared toward the subject or items on the website. You may also look for keywords with little competition this can save money when using PPC advertising.
After the first month of using PPC, you’ll need to start building backlinks, this is for the search engines. There is a lot cheaper way to get advertising than with pay per click. PPC advertising can be very expensive, costing hundreds, even thousands a month in advertising costs. Once you know what keywords to target, it’s time to put together a plan on how you are going to optimize your website. The drawback to search engine optimization is that it requires a lengthy amount of time to get your site to rank high with your keywords. Writing articles in directories is another way to build links to quality websites. Links between websites is how search engines get around, this is also how they get a lot of their information. After a few months of building your links, you want even have to use PPC advertising. By that time you should have natural traffic from search engines for free. Once you have optimized your website for search engines, using PPC advertising will be optional.

Traffic Exchanges Generate Free Traffic
Filed under: Web Traffic; Tagged as: building back links, Creating website traffic, free traffic, free traffic exchanges, search engines, targeted traffic, writing articles28 CommentsIf you’re feeling a bit of confusion and frustration about how to get visitors to your website and generate more sales, I know exactly how you feel. Creating website traffic can be time consuming and costly, all for a month later to be kick back down the ranks. It takes a lot of time building back links and submitting articles.
Targeted traffic is one of the most important factors to ensure the success of any website. Targeted Traffic is focused on target-oriented user activity and is all that matters in this business. The best targeted traffic is generated by search engines. Generating highly targeted traffic will yield sales for you in whatever it is you are selling. It has been shown that a smaller amount of targeted traffic is more likely to spend money than a larger amount of non-targeted traffic. Attracting targeted traffic is a task that should be taken seriously for any site to be successful. If you have owned your own web site for any amount of time you have realized that targeted traffic is very hard to come by.
The best way to get targeted website traffic is to use Pay-per-Click services like Google, Yahoo or MSN. You will need to monitor these services because you can spend a lot of money on keywords. One of the best ways to use these services is to use a lot of keyword phrases that nobody else uses, the less popular ones, but use hundreds of them. Taking this approach can get you clicks for as low as $.08 a click instead of paying dollars for popular clicks, and still be just as productive. For long term success you’ll need to build organic traffic or free traffic from search engines.
That’s where free traffic exchanges come in. Free traffic exchanges can be a great way to get traffic to your website. You should also know there’s really no such thing as free because you must spend your time surfing through other websites to earn credits. Free traffic exchanges are a great way to get lots of visitors to your site however, so spending an hour a day surfing, is not a lot to ask if you’re making sales from your efforts. And isn’t this why your in this business to begin with?
Free traffic exchanges are a great marketing tool for a several reasons. The best reason is you get a lot of people looking, and maybe clicking on your website or promotional pages. But there are hidden benefits to free traffic exchanges you may not have even considered.
Search engines love free traffic exchanges because of all the incoming and outgoing links they create. Plus the rapidly changing content is another reason the search engines love traffic exchanges. Exchanges that have more content also generate a higher page ranking. The key is to find exchanges that are very active and have lots of members. The more members they have, the more potential customers you get looking at your offer and your chances for sales conversions are that much better. If you are an affiliate marketer, then you need to find products/services that everyone else isn’t promoting, especially within that particular traffic exchange.
One way to use free traffic exchanges to your advantage is to join a few at first, and see if your sales pick up. If your sales aren’t doing well, then test out a few more. When you do find a few traffic exchanges that appear to be generating sales for you, then narrow those down until you find the one, or two that are working. Now concentrate your efforts on those because they’re the ones you want.
Getting free traffic to your website can be a lot of work. If you don’t have the money to spend on full blown PPC (pay-per-click) campaigns like Google AdWords or Yahoo, free traffic exchanges are a great way to get the traffic you need, for Free!
